Privacy Policy
RemitParse ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and what rights you have.
What We Collect
We collect only what's necessary to operate the service:
- Email address — when you join the waitlist or create an account
- Remittance files — PDFs and Excel files you upload for processing. These are processed in memory and are not stored on our servers after processing is complete
- Usage data — basic server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and debugging purposes
What We Don't Collect
- We do not store your remittance files or financial documents after your session ends
- We do not collect payment card numbers or banking information
- We do not use third-party ad networks, tracking pixels, or behavioral advertising
- We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes
How We Use Your Information
- Email address — to send you product updates, onboarding information, and service-related communications. You can unsubscribe at any time.
- Usage data — to maintain security, diagnose issues, and improve the service
Third-Party Services
We use a small number of trusted third-party services to operate RemitParse:
- Render — cloud hosting provider. Your data is processed on Render's servers. See Render's privacy policy.
- Kit (ConvertKit) — email marketing platform used to manage waitlist signups and product communications. See Kit's privacy policy.
- Intuit QuickBooks Online — if you connect your QBO account, we interact with Intuit's API to create credit memos on your behalf. See Intuit's privacy policy.
- Google Analytics (GA4) — we use Google Analytics to collect anonymous traffic data including pages visited, session duration, and approximate location. This data is used solely to understand how visitors interact with our site and is not used for advertising or shared with third parties. See Google's privacy policy.
We do not use Facebook Pixel, ad networks, or behavioral advertising tools.
QuickBooks Online Integration
If you choose to connect RemitParse to your QuickBooks Online account, the following applies:
- RemitParse stores your QuickBooks Online OAuth access token, refresh token, and company realm ID on our servers, encrypted at rest. These credentials are never stored in plaintext.
- We do not sell, share, or transfer your QuickBooks data to any third party.
- You may disconnect RemitParse from your QuickBooks account at any time from within the app. Disconnecting permanently and immediately deletes your stored credentials from our servers.
- RemitParse only accesses QuickBooks data necessary to create credit memos — specifically Items, Customers, Classes, and Departments. We do not access payroll, banking, invoices, payments, or any other financial data.
- Remittance files processed through the QBO integration are handled the same as all other uploads — parsed in memory and not stored after your session ends. We do not send your remittance documents to Intuit.
Cookies
RemitParse uses two types of cookies:
- Session cookie — a strictly necessary cookie that keeps you logged in while you use the app. This is set when you sign in and deleted when you sign out or close your browser session.
- Analytics cookies — Google Analytics sets cookies to collect anonymous data about how visitors use our site (pages visited, session duration, approximate location). This data is not linked to your account and is not used for advertising.
We do not use:
- Advertising or tracking cookies
- Third-party behavioral tracking of any kind
Because we use only strictly necessary and first-party analytics cookies — and do not use cookies for advertising — we do not display a cookie consent banner.
Data Security
All data transmitted to and from RemitParse is encrypted in transit via HTTPS. The application is password-protected and access is restricted. We follow reasonable security practices to protect your information, though no system is completely immune to risk.
Data Retention
- Remittance files — deleted immediately after processing. Not stored.
- Email addresses — retained until you unsubscribe or request deletion
- Server logs — retained for up to 30 days for security purposes
- QuickBooks OAuth credentials — retained only while your QBO connection is active. Permanently deleted upon disconnect or account cancellation.

You have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Request deletion of your personal data

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act. We do not sell personal information. You may request to know what personal information we have collected, request deletion, and opt out of any future sale (though we do not sell data). We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of RemitParse after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
